Name: Leonard Claes Age: 31 Sex: Male Profession: Pirate Location: Affiliations: Disposition:
Character Background and Description
Leonard is one of the major pirate powers operating in the Peaks. His ship, The Sorrow of the Rambler, is known for its speed and maneuverability, often dropping out of the clouds to meet its unexpecting victim. Leonard himself is seen as a master aviator, and most of his exploits are directly related to his mastery of his ship.
Leonard grew up in the lower class of Claud Gren, and as he came of age he joined the military to try and make a living. Shortly after joining he came to two realizations. The first was that without power or connections he was doomed to be a disposable pawn to whoever he worked for. The second was he belonged in the sky. With his natural charisma and growing reputation as an aviator, he convinced a group of soldiers to follow him into piracy, and launched a mutiny against his commander.
Once a pirate, Leonard developed a taste for finer things, and launched a brutal campaign to establish himself and his crew as people to be feared. He primarily targeted rich merchants or powerful individuals, and began amassing a hoard of wealth. His actions gained him powerful enemies, but his sill at evading those enemies earned him allies looing to do business with a man lie him.
Leonard is a tall and thin man, his time as a pirate has given him a lean musculature. He often dresses in fine clothes even in his decidedly rough environment. He tends to be greedy in general and cruel to his enemies, and while he is generous to his crew he believes a captain must maintain a distance from them to keep their authority. As such, most of the people he considers friends are his contacts, either wealthy men and women who buy the luxury goods he acquires or the lower class people he uses as fences for more mundane goods.
